| Bio: | Over the past year and a half, I have lost over 125 pounds, going from well over 300 pounds to, at the moment, about 195. Much of that journey has taken place on this journal. That and other rather fundamental changes to my life during the same time period has produced a dramatic shift in how I lead my life.
I am one of those freakish "open source" developers, though I will get yelled at for using that term... Let's say Free Software, instead. Old OpenBSD developer who really ought to get back into it and do something again. I've also contributed to the GNU Project; I don't like Linux for a variety of reasons (I once had an article I wrote about why Linux sucks published in Computer Bits), but most Linux boxes have code of mine on them. Heck, probably more systems do than I'm aware of. I also made this little thing called TeenyMUD 2.0, a very long time ago.
I have a collection of computers at home that would stun most everyone. NeXT slabs, m68k Macs, Amigas, hp300s, hp-pa risc boxes, SPARCstations, IBM PC RTs, ... probably more that I am forgeting. Don't have a VAX anymore, never had a DECstation or an SGI, and don't have a working Alpha anymore. Sigh. I need to work on my collection... The collection is gone! On December 15th 2006, I became a homeowner, and there was definitely no place for that huge pile of junk... So I got someone to come and take it all away. Yay.
In my not so spare time I play EverQuest 2/Dark Age of Camelot/Star Wars Galaxies/EverQuest/The Matrix Online/City of Villains/World of Warcraft, various other video games, watch television programs on my TiVos DISH, and lately I've taken to walking a few miles around the neighborhood on a regular basis.
